Excellent take on Euro-sci-fi.  Tracy saw "Fifth Element" at a formative age, and was so traumatized that she's still a hard sell on most sci-fi.  And not just Euro; it took me years to even get her to check out "Firefly."  Damn you, Bruce and Mila!

On a similar note, I would avoid "Doomsday" at all costs.  Aside from one good medieval combat scene, and having the saving grace of giving temporary gainful employment to a bunch of Euro-Burners and Ren-Festers, I otherwise found it to be a hackneyed amalgam of "Escape from New York", "The Road Warrior", "Reign of Fire" and "28 Days Later."  Bleechhh.
