I love everything this trailer is made of; comic books, film noir, and over-the-top action. But somehow this doesn’t seem like it’s all gelling together in this teaser.

Maybe it’s just trying too hard.

I’m keeping my eye on this one, because Will Eisner’s Spirit really is the father of the modern comic book, and it would be nice to see it treated well. I know that Frank Miller has plenty of reverence for the character and it’s creator, so hopefully more of that will shine through as we see more of the project.
